MAX Filter FAQ
The MAX filter is designed for travel, outdoor use, and situations where water quality may be less predictable.
MAX uses advanced filtration media to help reduce a broader range of contaminants, improving water clarity, taste, and overall confidence when refilling away from home.
Independently tested under NSF-based laboratory protocols, it demonstrates:
• ≥6-log bacteria reduction
• ≥6-log virus surrogate (MS2) reduction
• Free chlorine reduction
• Reduction of particles ≥0.5 microns
• Improved taste and odor
MAX is intended for treated or mildly contaminated water. It is not suitable for brackish water or heavily contaminated sources.
Rinse thoroughly before first use as per instructions to remove carbon dust and activate the filter.
Each filter lasts up to 30 days or 16 gallons (60L), depending on usage.

CORE Filter FAQ
The CORE filter is designed for everyday use, improving the taste and smell of tap water at home, work, or the gym.
CORE helps reduce chlorine, chloramine, and unpleasant taste and odor, making your water cleaner and more enjoyable to drink.
CORE is not intended for untreated or heavily contaminated water sources. It is best used with municipally treated water.
Chlorine is commonly used by municipal systems to disinfect water and make it safe to drink. It helps kill bacteria and other microorganisms during treatment and distribution.
While chlorine plays an important role in water safety, it can leave behind an unpleasant taste and smell.
Reducing chlorine helps improve:
- Taste (less “chemical” or “pool-like”)
- Odor (cleaner, fresher smell)
- Overall drinking experience
Chlorine is part of the water treatment process, so it’s not about making water “safe vs unsafe.”
FlavaFil’s role is to improve taste and drinking experience, not replace municipal treatment systems.
Activated carbon is a highly porous material designed to trap and reduce impurities as water passes through it.
FlavaFil uses coconut shell-based activated carbon, a premium source known for its fine pore structure and effectiveness.
Coconut shell carbon is widely used in filtration because it:
- Has a high surface area for adsorption
- Is especially effective for improving taste and odor
- Is derived from a natural, renewable source
As water passes through the filter, the activated carbon helps adsorb compounds like chlorine, which are responsible for unwanted taste and smell.
This results in:
- Cleaner taste
- Fresher-smelling water
- A more enjoyable drinking experience
Rinse the filter under clean water before first use to remove any carbon dust. Follow instructions inside for best performance.
Each filter lasts up to 30 days or 16 gallons (60L), depending on usage.
