What flavoring can I use with FlavaFil?
FlavaFil is designed to work with a variety of flavour formats, including cold brew teas, electrolyte and flavor powders, as well as flavored syrups. These different formats work depending on which insert you're using in the FlavaChamber. There are two insert options: the FlavaBullet and the SwirlBullet ~ each tailored for specific flavour types.
What is the FlavaChamber?
The FlavaChamber is FlavaFil’s flavour-dosing component. It’s a patented chamber that holds either the FlavaBullet or the SwirlBullet. As water flows through, it mixes with your chosen flavor source, blending it perfectly with clean, filtered water.
What’s the difference between the FlavaBullet and the SwirlBullet?
FlavaBullet is designed for cold brew teas and flavored syrups. It includes an optional mesh layer to strain out loose tea leaves.
SwirlBullet is used for electrolyte powders, flavour granules, and syrups. Its internal spiral design promotes smooth mixing as you sip.
Both inserts are swappable inside the patented FlavaChamber.
FlavaBullet – for teas and syrups?
Use the FlavaBullet when you want to infuse your water with:
~ Cold brew tea bags (herbal, green, fruit, rooibos, etc.)
~ Loose-leaf teas (use the mesh layer provided to catch fine particles)
~ Flavoured syrups and cordials (including natural fruit syrups and concentrates)
~ Light fruit infusions (such as a few slices of citrus or berries)
The FlavaBullet is ideal for steep-style flavour release and syrup dilution as you sip.
SwirlBullet – for powders?
Use the SwirlBullet when you're mixing:
~ Electrolyte powders
~ Flavour powders and granules
~ Vitamin or hydration drink powders
The SwirlBullet's internal spiral design helps distribute powders evenly as water flows through, creating a smooth, well-balanced sip without clumping or sediment.
What are cold brew teas and how do they work with FlavaFil?
Cold brew teas are tea bags specifically designed to infuse in cold water (no hot water needed!). They're the chill cousin of your regular tea bags, bringing smooth, refreshing flavor.
How it works: Pop a cold brew tea bag into your FlavaBullet, place it in the FlavaChamber, and enjoy instant flavor as you sip.
You can find cold brew tea bags at most grocery stores and tea shops. They come in tons of flavors, from classic black tea to fruity herbal blends, giving you endless options to customize your hydration experience.
Can I use my favorite tea bags or flavor sources?
Yes! FlavaFil is compatible with off-the-shelf cold brew tea bags. Simply roll it up and place inside the FlavaBullet. You can also use loose tea leaves if you desire.
How does the flavoring process work?
FlavaFil uses a unique two-channel system inside the patented FlavaChamber to deliver clean, balanced flavor ~ without overwhelming your water.
As you sip, water flows upward through two paths:
1. One path moves through the flavour insert (either the FlavaBullet or SwirlBullet), where it picks up flavor from tea, syrup, or powder.
2. The second path flows around the outside of the insert,, remaining unflavored.
At the top of the chamber, the flavoured and unflavored water meet and blend ~ giving you a perfectly balanced sip every time.
You can also control the intensity using the built-in flavor dial, which adjusts how much water flows through the flavor insert versus around it. This gives you complete control over how strong or subtle your flavor is, without needing to shake or stir.
The result: fresh, customizable hydration in every bottle ~ with no lingering taste, no mess, and no wasted water.
Can I adjust the flavor intensity?
Yes! FlavaFil features a dial mechanism that lets you control how much water flows through the FlavaChamber. Want a subtle hint? Turn it down. Want a bold blast of flavor? Turn it up. It’s hydration, personalized.
Can I use it with syrup concentrates or cordials?
Yes! The FlavaBullet is fully compatible with flavored syrups and cordials. It mixes them evenly as you sip, without leaving residue or staining your bottle.
How much water does the FlavaFil apparatus displace in my bottle?
FlavaFil causes approximately 3.4 fl oz of water displacement in your bottle. It's designed to be compact while maintaining functionality.
Will the flavour stain my bottle?
No. FlavaFil’s flavor stays inside the FlavaChamber, meaning your water bottle remains clean, unstained, and free of residual taste ~ so you can switch from berry tea to lemon electrolytes without needing to rinse.
What is a Venturi system, and how does it work in FlavaFil?
FlavaFil uses a Venturi system ~ a narrow pathway that increases water speed and pressure, allowing flavour to be pulled through and mixed more effectively. This creates a smooth, natural blend without the need for shaking or squeezing.

How does the FlavaFil filter work?
FlavaFil uses a multi-layer PurePlus™ filter featuring NASA-approved Disruptor™ technology. It combines mechanical filtration and electro-adsorption to remove a wide range of contaminants ~ including bacteria, viruses, pharmaceuticals, microplastics, chlorine, and odours. The result is crisp, clean-tasting water that’s safe and enjoyable to drink ~ no matter where you fill up.
What does the filter remove?
The PurePlus filter removes:
~ Bacteria & viruses
~ Microplastics
~ Chlorine & chloramine
~ Odours & tastes
~ Pharmaceuticals
~ Sediment & cysts
It does this while preserving healthy minerals and maintaining a smooth, high-flow sip.
Why is it important to remove microplastics from drinking water?
Microplastics have been found in over 90% of global tap water ~ and they don’t just pass through the body harmlessly. Research suggests they can carry toxins, disrupt hormones, and cause long-term health effects. Because these particles are extremely small, most standard filters don’t catch them.
FlavaFil’s PurePlus™ filter is engineered with Disruptor™ technology, which is fine enough to trap even the tiniest microplastics ~ giving you cleaner, safer water in every sip.
What is the activated carbon membrane, and what does it do?
The activated carbon membrane in FlavaFil is a key layer of the filter that targets taste, odor, and chemical pollutants. It works through adsorption, attracting and holding onto molecules like chlorine, chloramine, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and some heavy metals.
Unlike basic filters that rely on mechanical separation alone, this membrane helps transform harsh-tasting water into a clean, crisp sip ~ perfect for pairing with any flavour you add. It enhances the quality of your base water, ensuring that your flavours shine through without interference.
What does “neutralising taste” mean?
Tap water often carries unpleasant tastes caused by chlorine, chloramine, and organic compounds. FlavaFil doesn’t just block those substances ~ it neutralises them using an activated carbon layer, reducing their impact on both taste and smell.
This means your water tastes fresher, cleaner, and more natural ~ without the chemical aftertaste or “swimming pool” smell some tap water has.
Is this really NASA filtration technology?
Yes. The core filtration material in FlavaFil ~ Disruptor™ ~ was originally developed with support from NASA to help astronauts access safe water in space. It uses positively charged nanofibres to attract and trap negatively charged contaminants, while allowing clean water to pass through at a high flow rate. That same space-age innovation is now available in your everyday bottle.
How long does the filter last and how often should I replace it?
Each filter lasts approximately 300–400 uses (or 2–3 months of regular daily use). You'll know it’s time to replace it when the flow slows down or the taste changes.
